So far, the simple missions are easy, and the not so easy missions result in non-consistent results. The team is finding that putting a small object into a container is tricky on account of the slight variations in the robot path – caused by issues with the jig, inconsistent turns, etc.
Core Values
Exhibiting and recognizing our use of the core values has proven to be challenging. We're going to be using our second meeting of this week to work on core values, team building and have some fun. The plan is to build our communication skills, listen to each other and realize that it is okay to have different views and ways of doing things.
“Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM).”
Innovation Project Ideas
The team has been tasked with creating a PowerPoint presentation of their research. During this week second meeting the boys will be presenting there project PowerPoint to the team.
Missions 03, 04 and 05
The boys worked on their individual mission tasks. Andy got the team from the home position to mission 03 last week and Kailash got most of mission 05 sorted out. During this week's first meeting, Jackson was able to program the robot to accomplish mission 04 and bring EV3 back home. The team then worked on chaining the three missions tasks together into one seamless run.
Our real challenge has been getting in position to dump the green cube into basketball hoop (mission 05).
This week the team also worked on building a jig to define the robots start position in the home area.
We're also finding that the 3M stickers provide for this challenge are not working well. Luckily we have the stickers from the "Into Orbit" challenge and are in process of swapping them out.
